
Power Analysis for ANOVA Designs: Examples for Dissertation Students & Researchers
A power analysis was conducted to determine the number of participants needed in this study (Cohen, 1988). Power Calculation for a Small Effect Size

A power analysis was conducted to determine the number of participants needed in this study (Cohen, 1988). The α for the ANOVA will be set at .05. To achieve power of .80 and a small effect size (f² = .10), a total sample size of 969 is required to detect a significant model (F (2, 966) = 3.00).

A power analysis was conducted to determine the number of participants needed in this study (Cohen, 1988). The α for the ANOVA will be set at .05. To achieve power of .80 and a medium effect size (f² = .35), a total sample size of 159 is required to detect a significant model (F (2, 156) = 3.05).
